Biblical Babylon?
This is a topic that has never been taught in today’s world: but that “Babylon of Revelation” is ONLY about our world of today! So we shall progress slowly and use a great deal of Scriptures to prove this great Truth of God.
SIDE NOTE by jpw: For any person who has actually “read” their Bible from cover to cover, please note that nowhere in Scripture has Christ ever clearly stated just what Babylon is, what the “beast” is, nor what the infamous “mark of the beast” is. Christ has left a great many clues, but no outright explanations.
Oh, but Christ did FULLY identify what “mammon” is! And we shall get to that word shortly. We have to first understand Babylon, the beast, and its mark. Why? Because “mammon” is a part of them all: they cannot be separated. For if you chase mammon, you despise God! We shall begin with the basics here.

LET US BEGIN WITH “BABYLON.”
WAIT . . . WHAT?
Which Babylon? There are many “Babylons” described throughout Christ’s Scriptures!
There is a reason for this confusion.

So again . . . which Babylon? It’s a fair question!
Indeed, it is a most confusing question.
That word, “Babylon” is found in Strong’s Concordance as “G897.” (Link opens in a new window)
Babylon = “confusion”
- a very large and famous city, the residence of the Babylonian kings, situated on both banks of the Euphrates. Cyrus had formerly captured it, but Darius Hystaspis threw down its gates and walls, and Xerxes destroyed the temple of Belis. At length the city was reduced to almost solitude, the population having been drawn off by the neighbouring Seleucia, built on the Tigris by Seleucus Nicanor.

- allegorically, of Rome as the most corrupt seat of idolatry and the enemy of Christianity
So, as an “allegory,” this confusing word of “Babylon” goes far beyond any piece of land on this earth. Therefore, THIS SEEMINGLY CONFUSING WORD is our only way of ever understanding Satan’s control of this world, including today. (Because Rome did not exist back in the days of Isaiah, quoted below! Simple.) This little word, “Babylon” appears in the Bible 265 times! Since Christ gave this word such prominence in His Scriptures, maybe He desires us to pay close attention to this word.

The “Babylon” that most Christians understand began as a small town (called Babel) which just kept growing. It grew into a large city under its ruler, Nimrod; then a small nation that became very powerful under king Nebuchadnezzar. (Please do note that the ancient city of Babel is also found as “G897” in Strong’s Concordance.) This is the end of what most Christians understand about Babylon. But oh, how that allegorical Babylon continued to grow and expand across this world because of Satan’s works in this world. Christ’s commands (meaning His Commandments, Laws, ordinances, Feasts, and various other commands) prevent any “confusion” in a person’s life: this is by Christ’s Design. But Satan was made the Prince of this world, by our LORD: and Satan had his own design. This is Christ speaking below:
John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
It was Satan who caused Babylon (or confusion) to continue to grow and expand across this world: this includes the real Babylon of long ago and that allegorical Babylon which confuses our world of today, regarding what the Word of God teaches us. That “allegorical” part definitely began in Rome, but over the past 2,000 years, it is now found throughout the entire Christian faith. Satan has had thousands of years to nurture (and strengthen) the growth of “his confusion” in this world.
Isaiah 14:4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
AUTHOR’S NOTE: “take up this proverb?” That word, “proverb” is “Strong’s H4912” (link opens in a new window) and it means “parable.” Christians are well aware of Christ’s parables from the Gospels. Well, this is a parable from Christ’s Older Testament. Being a parable, this story clearly goes far beyond just the words that Isaiah spoke in his day. Indeed, you shall learn that this is a parable about both Satan and this world’s pompous and arrogant Christians. For once Babylon has fallen “in our current days,” the wrath of Christ shall begin as this world has never before seen. (Revelation 14:8, to be quoted shortly.)
It happened before . . . it will happen again!
Isaiah 14:5 The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.
Isaiah 14:6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.
Isaiah 14:7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
Isaiah 14:8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.
Isaiah 14:9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
Isaiah 14:10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
Isaiah 14:11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Notice that the next verses, 13 and 14, is Christ showing this world of Satan’s thoughts!
Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Namely the Sunday keeping congregations, but some of the sabbath keeping congregations also. For just now, this author is only listing Christ’s grievances against the 99.9%: meaning all Sunday keeping Christians and their pastors.
Isaiah 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: below is Christ’s response regarding Judgment Day:
Isaiah 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isaiah 14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
Please consider Isaiah 14:12 thoroughly. Satan has always weakened the nations. And he still does, today! Satan is everywhere and in every nation. Satan controls both sides of politics: conservative and liberal. He does not care what side of Christ’s “boat” that you fall out of, he just wants you to “fall out!” Satan is in every religion and in every denomination! Satan is in every Sunday keeping Christian home. The Christian faith is not exempt from Satan’s victories.

My dearest Christian friends who truly desire to “come out” of that Christian faith which Christ hates, know that He hates the Christian faith because it is full of confusion! (Revelation 18:4) Please be patient and have faith here in this letter: your confusion shall be made clear by the end of this letter. Before this letter is finished, you shall learn exactly why that “most corrupt seat of idolatry” has blinded you here in these last days of mankind. Today’s Protestant faiths claim to have left that “most corrupt seat of idolatry,” but THEY ARE PROTESTING NOTHING! Think about that before you dismiss it! They are still following that “most corrupt seat of idolatry” as if they were the HARLOTS of Satan! (Revelation 17:5, quoted below.)

Speaking of the Roman Catholic church (and those harlots that came out of her), an angel of Christ showed this “great confusion” to John while John was writing his book in heaven:
Revelation 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Satan’s Babylon (confusion) just keeps growing and growing: to the point where Christ shall soon destroy this entire world because the entire world shall be BABYLON! Hence this website; hence Christ hating all Christians of today!
Returning to “that most corrupt seat of idolatry:”
The entire chapter of Revelation 17 is about the corruption and confusion (on this earth) that the Roman Catholic church has wrought today.
Revelation 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
In this chapter, that angel revealed a great many evils that this church has caused here in our last days of this earth. We are not talking about the days of Nimrod and Babel, although yes, it did begin long ago. No! Revelation is a snapshot picture of how that confused and corrupt church fails Christ, TODAY! We shall not quote the entire chapter here, but will reference the parts that clearly teach that this Catholic church is the seat, and power of, Babylon (meaning confusion), TODAY!
Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Should any Christians doubt that the church of Rome is that great whore of Revelation, please understand the next verse. Rome is surrounded by seven mountains. Rome is the ONLY religious center (in this world) that is surrounded by seven mountains. (This author includes this verse here because a great many Christians are not familiar with Revelation.)
Revelation 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
These next three verses illustrate just how much Christ hates today’s Babylon (that great whore, the Catholic church, AND those harlots that came out of her, yet failed to abandon her abominations of this earth, mentioned in verse 17:5 above). Please remember that this letter is mostly about the confusion which Satan has forever wrought upon this earth. It has also been wrought by way of today’s Christian religion: the bulk of which was created in the earlier years of that great whore, the Catholic church. Christians are falsely taught that they shall be exempt from the next three verses. But no! Christians shall be the primary target of the wrath of God described below:
Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Returning to Revelation 17:5 for a moment:
Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

That term “Babylon the Great” is of significant importance here, in many ways.
Those two words of “the Great” is Strong’s one word “G3173,” (link opens in a new window) or the Greek word “megas.” One could reasonably determine that it is the root of our English word “mega” today. Oh, but that ancient Greek word goes far beyond our “western” vanities of today.
That Greek word has a great number of usages: meaning just how it is normally used in Scripture. Strong’s “usages” include:
stature and age: great, old
of number and quantity: numerous, large, abundant
of age: the elder
splendid, prepared on a grand scale, stately
of things which overstep the province of a created being, proud (presumptuous) things, full of arrogance, derogatory to the majesty of God.

All of these usages describe the Roman Catholic church better than any other church that ever existed. This author cannot release her harlots from this definition either, in his humble opinion.
But . . . “derogatory to the majesty of God?”
Seriously?

It is time to make all of this Babylon confusion clear:
Mammon!
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

This author has quoted Matthew 6:24 in several places on this website and usually emphasized Christ’s Truth that if we hold to the one, then we despise the other. This author then typically asked each reader, “Do you despise God?” Well, this author is a simple minded man; but Christ is Perfect! Please continue in Christ’s Perfect Word:
Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Matthew 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Matthew 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Matthew 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matthew 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
When we earnestly pursue mammon, we receive the mark of the beast. Why? Because we now despise God, whether we agree with that Truth, or not. Matthew 6:24 teaches this, above.
IMPORTANT NOTE: That verse does not give any hint of, “Well, I can do both.” Because you cannot! Christ’s carefully chosen words do not leave that option available.
Mammon is a part of the beast. The Catholic church and its harlots are a part of the beast. Rejecting the first four of Christ’s Ten Commandments are a part of the beast. Rejecting even one of Christ’s Ten Commandments is a part of the beast. Any perceived wealth, fame, glory, stature, or pride are parts of the beast. That beast is anything that Christ never placed a value upon, anywhere in His Scriptures. Our placing any “earthly value” upon anything outside of Christ and His Word is a part of the beast! It is Satan who has convinced mankind to place a worldly value on various things: such as with Eve and that tree in the Garden; such as with Cain holding back on his offering to God (Genesis 4:5 and Revelation 13:8, referencing the beast and its mark at the foundation of this world: and yes, God did place a mark upon Cain); and such as Nimrod attempting to build a tower that might reach Heaven so that presumably, he would not have to worry about being obedient to God: he would just construct his own path to Heaven! This author could go on forever here: wealth, fame, glory, power, sex, religious authority, disobedience, selfishness, influence, various self-abuses (drugs, alcohol, etc.).
Basically, if you examine the 32 tabs on this website (32 and increasing!), all of them are grievances that Christ currently holds against Christians today: because we have placed an “earthly value” on many things, thereby causing us to reject Christ and His Father, our LORD.
Satan! Satan! Satan!
Satan wants us to value mammon because he knows it leads away from Christ, and Heaven. Satan wants us to worship the beast (again, through mammon!) because it becomes a false god in our lives.

Christians! Please read those last ten verses of Christ one more time: Matthew 6:25 – 34. We, mankind, think we have everything in our lives figured out. We think we have removed all “confusion” from our lives.
Truth be told, all we have accomplished is that we have become “comfortable” with that confusion which is currently found in each of our lives. (This author is not exempt from this Truth.)
Christians! If you disagree with even one of those ten verses of Christ’s Word above, then you are in great danger on Judgment Day. This author would never say that any person is going to hell because of this or that disagreement: only Christ can make that determination. (And this author would be the first to admit that there are “things that need to be straightened out in his own life!”)

Now, it is time to clear all of this up.
The Book of Revelation is a fairly unique book. In Christ’s Older Testament, Christ scattered His “end-time” Warnings throughout the words of many prophets such as Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel, Malachi, and others. In His Qur’an, Christ (Muslims call Him Allah) scattered His “end-time” Warnings throughout that Book also. There was only one prophet (Muhammad), but the Warnings are found in many places.
In His Book of Revelation, Christ placed all of His incredible Warnings in ONE PLACE! For all the world to see. Indeed, for all Christians to see! Our “all-knowing” Christ knew that the Christian faith would become the largest (and most sinful) faith that ever existed. Christ knew that the Christian faith would completely fail Him. How do we know this? Because Christ described this very failure some 2,000 years ago. And He gave great details to the Apostle John!
Babylon! Confusion! Mammon! The beast and its mark!
One of the biggest problem with Christians today, is that they have accepted Satan’s lies that the Book of Revelation is about “all other folks.” Christians believe that it is not about them! Christians believe that they are going to receive a free pass (or sometimes a ride) to Heaven! And who spoke these lies to Christians of today? Their pastors!
Christians! There is a reason that the Revelation of John was given to you!
Because it is ABOUT you!
And it is YOUR warning!

Christians . . . you are Babylon, today! You are the confused! It is Satan who has confused you for centuries now and he has done this by way of your pastors and teachers. The “great whore” of Revelation 17:1 is Satan’s primary residence. Those “harlots” are his weekend homes: meaning mostly on Sundays. Those Protestant “harlots” do not even PROTEST the great whore’s failure of nearly all of Christ’s Ten Commandments! They IGNORE the fact that the Roman Catholic church has completely removed Christ’s Second Commandment from their version of the Bible. You know that Second Commandment: it is the one that forbids all of those “graven images” that this world finds in all Catholic churches and throughout Rome. It is also the one that forbids all of those graven images and crosses hanging on the walls of those Protestant HARLOTS’ churches who are PROTESTING NOTHING! Again, Revelation 17:5)
Remember . . . the word Babylon means “confusion.”

BABYLON HAS ALWAYS FALLEN, FALLEN: every time it has reared its ugly head throughout mankind’s history!
Isaiah 21:6 For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
Isaiah 21:7 And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
Isiah 21:8 And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
Isaiah 21:9 And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
Christians! Your “past” is your future and because of this, you cannot escape your future. Revelation teaches this clearly. Revelation is a GIFT to you! Learn from your past, for this is one reason that Christ delivered His Scriptures to you: to show you that our LORD changes not, yet mankind continues to follow Satan’s lies to the contrary.
Jeremiah 51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
Jeremiah 51:7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’s hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
Jeremiah 51:8 Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.
A SCRIPTURAL NOTE REGARDING VERSE 7 here: Christ has rewarded a great many good nations throughout mankind’s history. Yes, this even included Nebuchadnezzar: for he was good in the beginning. It included Cyrus the Great and a host of others. But the “true, yet never taught” story of Daniel, chapter 2, is that every “good” nation that Christ has ever blessed, then became drunken from that cup which the LORD’s hand gave to them. One can begin this Truth of God with that first verse found in Daniel, chapter 5! (One can end this Truth of God with the events revealed in the book of Revelation; and our Christian failures of today.)
That cup was “good” when they received it, but true to mankind’s form (and Satan’s fashions) they all became drunken in their wealth and blessings.
To this author’s best recollection, there are only two individuals in all of Scripture that did not become drunken from our LORD’s blessings. Abraham and Joseph. For Jesus taught that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. But few Christians understand that the first book of their Bible covers a full 2,000 years of mankind’s history! This book is called Genesis. Nearly one-third of Genesis’ verses cover the life of Abraham. Nearly one-third of Genesis’ verses cover the life of Joseph. Each of these men were amongst the richest who ever lived. And in His Qur’an, Christ teaches that they will both be in Heaven. Maybe we should learn about these two men, because the blessings that our LORD heaped upon them never caused them to become drunken in their blessings. Also, Christ sure did spend a “whole lot of time” teaching Moses about them. Imagine that! Two thousand years of Christ’s lessons packed into one book and more than half of that book is dedicated to the lives of these two men!
This author apologizes for digressing. Returning to our historic Babylon:

Babylon shall fall again!

(Closer than you could ever imagine!)

Oh, but Christians . . . here is what your future could be, if you leave Satan and his ways (and his pastors!):
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
(That word “and” means “both sides” of that word are equal and critical. Fail just one side of that word and you have failed Christ. Simple.)
The choice is entirely yours to make. You can keep wallowing in your self-created, self-centered, and Satan-designed “confusion” of your life (meaning Babylon): or you can choose to follow Christ’s simple and easy commands. Satan has falsely taught your pastors that you can do nothing to “get yourself to Heaven.” This is a lie! Yes, Christ’s decisions on Judgment Day are entirely His to make and He already knows what “sins” He shall forgive. But His Righteousness is Perfect: so much so, that we can absolutely count on our being able to determine that we are at least on the right path that He has Designed for us. The path to finding success on Judgment Day is standing right in front of you, at this moment. The path to finding success on Judgment Day is the one that leads you AWAY from Satan and your Sunday keeping pastors. Christ, in His Perfect Righteousness, shall forgive those little mistakes (sins) you made along the way: as long as you followed that Path which He laid out for you in His Scriptures.
Understanding Babylon is truly this simple!
